TOC is played in the No Limit Hold’em variant, the winner takes home $500,000, the second $250,000, the third $100,000, and the finalists ranked 4th to 9th place will receive $25,000.

The winner is the French Bertrand Grospellier alias Elky who therefore obtains the right to come and participate in this prestigious tournament which will take place on June 27 in the company of 27 great poker players all handpicked. We will of course find 5 players automatically selected: the three previous winners of the Tournament of Champions (TOC): Annie Duke, Mike Matusow and Mike Sexton, the two reigning champions of the Main Event WSOP Joe Cada and for the WSOPE Barry Shulman, and two players chosen by WSOP sponsors. Another 20 players were chosen from among 521 WSOP champions in a vote by Internet users, and the last 2 players to be eligible for the title of the 2023 WSOP Tournament of Champions were selected directly by the WSOP sponsors.

It was against the formidable Michael Mizrachi alias the “Grinder” (recent winner of the $50,000 World Series Of Poker event 2) that Elky measured himself in the final heads-up. But the best French player in international tournaments held his own until the end, going all-in preflop, he won the bet and his ticket to the 2023 WSOP Tournament of Champions.
